Plant Description
-
Name: Jade Plant
-
Species Name: Crassula ovata
-
Care: Protect from harsh sunlight and ultraviolet rays. The jade plant does best in rich well-draining soil
-
Propagation: Gently remove a healthy lower leaf by gently twisting entire leaf off of the branch. Set leaf aside to dry for 2-4 days. Once the open stem of the leaf has hardened and calloused, place leaf into small planter filled with well draining soil and press stem barely into the soil. Water every other day with spray bottle near the stem as that is where the roots will emerge. Do not let the leaf soak in water or damp soil as it will rot
-
Flowering Period: May produce small white or pink star shaped flowers in early spring and wintertime
